Edward C. Rach – Monongahela

Edward C. Rach, 94, of Monongahela, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, in his home. Born Nov. 7, 1924, in Uniontown, he was the son of John and Anna O’Connor Rach. following his graduation in 1943 from the former Rostraver High School, Ed served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, stationed in Hawaii, the Philippines and the Pacific Theater. He retired as an engineer for the Southwestern Railroad division of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant. Catholic by faith he was a member of the Carroll Township American Legion Post 949. Surviving are his wife, Naomi Kulik Rach; a son, Daniel E. Rach of Monongahela; two sisters, Kathleen Beaumont and Margie  Kubena both of Warren, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were four brothers, Francis, Jack, Lawrence and Paul Rach; and two sisters Patricia Ann Fetock and Clair Rach. Friends will be received at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, with Deacon Al Poroda officiating. Interment will follow in Mon-Valley Memorial Park, Donora with military honors conducted by the Mon-Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
