Things to keep an eye on this football season

Less than a week stands between local gridiron stars and their return to playing under the Friday night lights.
With week zero games kicking off on Aug. 23, plenty of storylines exist heading into what is expected to be yet another exciting WPIAL football season for teams in the Mon Valley.
Here are 10 storylines to watch for this fall:
Replacing stars at Charleroi
Geno Pellegrini, Hunter Perry and Dakota Romantino played big roles in helping to bring the Charleroi football program back to prominence.
The three were crucial offensive weapons for a Cougars team that advanced to the WPIAL semifinals last season.
