Local officials and invited guests celebrated the completion of a new trolley platform and a pedestrian bridge connecting it to the Washington County Fairgrounds Friday morning.
The project, which took five years to complete, was a cooperative effort between the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, Washington County Commissioners and the Washington County Fair.
The day began with the clang of a trolley bell as attendees boarded vintage trolley cars for a short ride to the fairgrounds, where they disembarked on to the new platform.
Grace Bioni, whose father’s firm, Bioni Drilling, built the new access bridge, had the honor of placing her handprints into the wet cement.
