The FBI will assist with an investigation into five area bomb threats Thursday night, including Monongahela Valley Hospital.
All five organizations received multiple calls between 8 and 10 p.m. from the same number, according to Allegheny County Police Insp. Andrew Schurman.
“Each time the caller would state there was a bomb in the business,” Schurman wrote in a prepared statement. “Some reported the calls seemed prerecorded; others described that the caller seemed to interact on the call. The caller was male and preliminarily seemed to be the same person on each call.”
Schurman said no bombs were located at any of the locations, and all five “were deemed safe.”
