David Pierce Jr. – Elco

David Pierce Jr., 67, passed away on Aug. 4, 2019, at his home in Elco. Mr. Pierce was born on June 7, 1952, in Waynesburg, Pa. David previously worked for the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation prior to devoting his life to farming. He was a member of the Roscoe American Legion and the Roscoe Slovak Club. He was an avid and passionate hunter and fisherman. His contagious laugh and cheerful jokes will always be remembered by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Gauden and David Pierce Sr.; and his siblings, Gloria Williams, John Tharp and Laura Tietel. He is survived by his spouse, Cindy Place; his son Jesse (Sarah) Pierce; his daughter, Kristine Pierce; his granddaughter, Everly Jo Reign Pierce; his sister, Dorothy Ellis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Homer Stewart and Marilynn Carraway, as well as Amedysis Hospice, for David’s exceptional at home care. His memorial service will be held at Allenport Fire department at 4 p.m. Aug. 24, 2019. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., Roscoe.
