Three Monongahela street department workers are being called heroes after running to the rescue of a toddler who accidentally got herself stuck in a tough situation Tuesday afternoon.
Susan Bowers said her 3-year-old granddaughter, Gabriella, was playing at the new home of the Monongahela Area Historical Society while a group of volunteers got ready for the city’s upcoming birthday celebration. Gabriella suddenly put her head through the opening in the back of a chair and could not get it out.
Bowers, vice president of the Historical Society, said the incident happened so quickly it sent her into a panic.
