David Pierce Jr., 67, of Elco, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at his home. Born in Waynesburg on June 7, 1952, a son of the late David Pierce Sr. and Dorothy Gauden. David was retired from the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport Plant. He was a member of the Roscoe American Legion Post 801, the Roscoe Slovak Club and was a lifetime member of the NRA. David is survived by his wife, Cindy Place Pierce; a son and daughter-in-law, Jesse (Sarah) Pierce of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Kristine Pierce of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Everly Jo Reign Pierce; sister, Dottie Ellis of Ohio; and nephew, Joseph Gauden; and by several good friends. Also surviving are his nephew and girlfriend, Homer Stewart and Marilynn Carraway, who were his 24/7 caretakers during his illness. He was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Pierce; and brother, John Pierce. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for all of their help and care. There will be no public visitation.
