Monongahela’s 250th anniversary parade will be led by state Sen. Camera Bartolotta, who will serve as the grand marshal.

The parade, set for 11 a.m. Saturday, is being sponsored by EQT.

The Monongahela 250 nonprofit organization, led by President Laura Magone, Vice President Susan Bowers, Treasurer Carol Frye and Secretary Martha Muniz, chose Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township, for several reasons.

“The senator is one of our own and is a vital part of our community,” Bowers said. “Sen. Bartolotta has made her home here for decades, raised her family here and our decision has nothing to do with politics. We are proud Monongahela-area residents first.”
