John A. Police Jr., 58, of Fayette City, formerly of Monongahela, died Saturday, July 20, 2019, in Monongahela-Valley Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1960, in Washington, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Rosemary Orsini Police. A 1978 graduate of Ringgold High School, John retired from the maintenance department at Mon-Valley Hospital. He was catholic by faith and an avid Steelers, Pirates and Notre Dame football fan. Surviving are a sister, Diane and husband Bob Anthony of New Eagle; a niece he adored, Elizabeth Anthony; a stepsister, Marsha and husband Charlie Zemko; and a stepbrother Gregg and wife Kim Olsavick. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nancy Police; and his longtime companion, Grace A. Federer, who passed away Oct. 13, 2018. He is also survived by Grace’s family, Edward Federer Jr. and his companion Anne Marie Toth, who John was making his home with; Cheryl Avery and Joy and Rob Shambaugh all of Fayette City; and his longtime best friend, Jerry Vitale. A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. The MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St. Monongahela, 724-258-6767 was in charge of the arrangements.
