Shandon “Tank” Marshall, Lyndon Henderson and Noah Brown are three of the best players Naz Victoria says he ever coached during his time on the sidelines of the J. Budd Grebb Memorial Summer Basketball League.
Henderson, a former Monessen standout, and Brown (Kiski Prep) are former league MVPs, while Victoria said Marshall, a Brownsville graduate, was more than good enough to be named the league’s top player.
With his Grebb League career now in the rear-view mirror, add Chris Peccon to Victoria’s Mt. Rushmore of top players he’s coached over the years.
Peccon, a Ringgold senior who plays for Campy’s Pizza, has been a mainstay in the Grebb League over the last several years and was rewarded for his consistent efforts Thursday night, earning the 2019 Grebb League Boys Division Most Valuable Player award.
Peccon, who was also named to the league’s all-star team, was one of the league’s leading scorers during the regular season, averaging over 23 points in six games.
