The J. Budd Grebb Memorial Summer Basketball League boys division title will be up for grabs tonight when top-seeded Campy’s Pizza takes on No. 3 Union Cleaners in the 8 p.m. league championship game at Mechanic Street Playground in California.
Campy’s Pizza is seeking its third consecutive title after convincingly defeating Farmers Insurance, 99-52, in the semifinals Tuesday night.
However, adding another championship trophy won’t be an easy task.
Despite compiling just a 6-5 record this season, Union Cleaners is no slouch.
That was proven Tuesday when they upset second-seeded Tri-County Realty, 67-64.
TJ Kurutz’s resilient squad, which had four players finish in double figures, overcame a pair of double-digit deficits – one in the first half and another in the second – to rally for the win.
