Whiskey and fashions catch spirit of Monongahela’s 250th

A timeline of vintage clothing will offer a look at Monongahela’s 250 years of history during a whiskey pairing at Rippel’s on the Creek at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 11.

Sharon and Wesley Rippel will host “A Liquid Journey Through Our Early Years” at their event center to support Monongahela’s 250th anniversary. Debbie Popp Gilbert will arrange the timeline drawn from Elizabeth Township Historical Society’s clothing collection.

“Sharon and I both dressed in costumes for the town’s 200th anniversary and are thrilled to help promote Monongahela’s history and vibrancy now,” Gilbert said. 

The Rippels have been business owners in the city for 27 years and own The Bar downtown. Rippel and Gilbert grew up as neighbors in New Eagle.
