Retirement sparks memories for ex-McKeesport chief

Kevin Lust, a longtime McKeesport firefighter who served a 10-year stint as chief, is retiring.
Lust was promoted to fire chief in 2005 and stepped down from the position in 2015, but has remained a full-time firefighter.
When he left the position he said it was because he was getting older and wanted quality time with his fellow firefighters.
“I wanted to join my brothers on the floor,” he said. “I knew I was reaching the 65-year-old limit in the pension agreement and I wanted to finish out on easy street and let a younger guy build his career.”
