Senior citizens who live in state Rep. Mike Puskaric’s district are encouraged to take advantage of a Seniors for Safe Driving program he is hosting.
Puskaric represents Pennsylvania’s 39th Legislative District, which includes the Mon Valley communities of Elizabeth, West Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills boroughs and Forward and Elizabeth townships.
The first Seniors for Safe Driving event will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 9, followed by a program at noon Sept. 10. Both will be at the Jefferson Hills Borough Building, located at 925 Old Clairton Road in Clairton.
The program is designed to promote safe driving techniques for people age 55 and older. Those who complete the PennDOT-approved course will receive a minimum 5% discount on their vehicle insurance for three years as mandated by state law, Puskaric said.
