Theodore Michael ‘Ted’ Visnic – Ridgeway, Va.

Theodore Michael “Ted” Visnic, 89, of Ridgeway, Va., died Monday, July 22, 2019. He was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Versailles, son of the late Michael and Mary Posick Visnick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ted Visnic Jr.; and his daughter, Mary Louise Visnic. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Elaine Gooding Visnic; his son, Lawrence (Jackie) Visnic of Bradenton, Fla.; his daughter, Lisa (Robert) Sheehan of Stevensville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and Linda Gray, the mother of his children. Ted was Catholic by faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He delivered milk for Thompson’s Dairy in Washington, D.C. and was a letter carrier for the USPS. During the 1970s, he sang with Bill Manville’s dance band, The Syncopators, in Northern Virginia and the Blue Danube Tamburitza Orchestra of Belle Vernon, Fairhope. Some of his greatest pleasures were playing his guitar and singing and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in the chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery.
