Marjorie O. Howis, 96, of Donora, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in the Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born in Donora on Feb. 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Ethel Butterworth Suffolk. Marjorie graduated from McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an RN at various hospitals and nursing homes through the years. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Monessen Chapter 205, Marjorie spent many years traveling the world, especially Egypt, China and Mexico. She loved sewing, knitting, crafting and oil painting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Howis; and two brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Harry) Bellora of Carroll Township, and Sandie (Mike) Cermak of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Stacee (James Scholl) Rutherford, Adam Bellora, Michael (Heather) Cermak Jr. and Glenn Howis (Laura) Cermak; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kipton, Mason and Delaney. A special thank you to the wonderful, caring staff of the Hallsworth House for brightening up her days as well as the OSPTA Hospice for their thoughtfulness and support.
