Mike Medved will be the first to tell you he wears many hats.

Country music singer-songwriter, former professional basketball player, teacher, graphic designer, husband and father, to name a few. He even moonlights in The Bachelor Boys Band, which plays at area weddings.

The 32-year-old Elizazbeth native has been a local music staple for years, aside from a stint spent in Leeds, England, where he played professional basketball. He knocked out a couple career records while he was across the pond, averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game and leading his league in 3-point shooting for a time.

That was years ago, and Medved’s life has shifted from recent college grad with a basketball contract to his new role as husband and father — with one caveat. He’s got an insatiable dream to make country music.
