Monessen library to sponsor car show

The Monessen Public Library will host its first-ever annual custom car show Aug. 10.

The library has been struggling to find the funding to maintain the programs and services it currently offers, according to library vice president John Golomb.

The car show will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Herman Mihalich Boat Launch in Monessen.

The first 100 registered cars, trucks or motorcycles will receive dash plaques. Trophies will be awarded in 12 car classes and two motorcycle classes.
