While it may not mean much in the grand scheme of the playoffs, Dax Thomas State Farm took sole possession of second place in the Grebb League girls division Wednesday.
Belle Vernon Area’s Rachel Wobrak scored a game-high 10 points and her BVA teammate Taylor Rodriguez added nine points as State Farm held off Cedarbrook, 34-25, thanks to a stout defensive effort in the fourth quarter.
Cedarbrook, who trailed by only two heading into the fourth quarter, was held scoreless in the final quarter until JaNya Scott (Monessen) hit a layup with eight seconds remaining in the game.
