Terry W. Chattaway – Monongahela

Terry W. Chattaway, 70, of Monongahela, died Friday, July 12, 2019, in his home. Born May 10, 1949 in New Eagle, he was the son of the late Charles and Frances Donovan Chattaway. After his graduation in 1967 from Monongahela High School, Terry worked at the family business, Chattaway Insurance in Monongahela. He served two years in the U.S. Army Reserves and after returning home began working in the steel mills as a millwright and local barge lines. Terry was a member of the Monongahela Mariners Club and during the summer months enjoyed spending time at the river on his boat. Surviving are his sister, Cathy Bailey of Monument, Colo.; a nephew, Wade and wife Julie Bailey of Allentown; a niece, Erin Bailey of Colorado Springs, Colo.; an aunt, Norma Jean Wall of Los Angeles, Calif.; two cousins, Jay Allen Chattaway of Martha’s Vineyard, R.I., and Suzanne Thomson from Fombell, Pa.; along with many good friends, who will be missed. A memorial service will announced at a later time, the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, was in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to either the Washington City Mission, 84 W. Wheeling St., Washington, PA 15301, or the Monongahela Area Library, 813 Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
