Area man searching for donor for kidney transplant

Allenport resident Larry Funari has a lot to live for.
That is why he and his family are asking for a favor from someone who could be a stranger: a kidney.
For the last 17 years, Larry has lived as a Type 2 diabetic that is insulin resistant.
Diabetes is a medical condition that causes blood sugar levels to rise higher than normal. When someone has Type 2 diabetes, which is the most common form, the body does not use insulin properly.
When someone with Type 2 has insulin resistance, the pancreas tries to produce extra insulin but over time is unable to keep up and cannot make enough insulin to keep blood sugar levels normal.
