A McKeesport man has been charged after allegedly stealing nearly $2,500 worth of medical equipment and supplies from a McKeesport Ambulance Rescue Service vehicle.

Neal T. Coulson, 38, of Walnut Street, was charged Thursday with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle.

On June 29, MARS ambulance crew members reported to McKeesport police that they parked an ambulance on Kountz Alley, which is located behind Hoot’s Again in Christy Park, so they could go inside for lunch.

When they returned to the ambulance to respond to an emergency call, the crew members discovered that several bags filled with equipment were missing from the ambulance, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
