James E. Patton Sr., 84, of Carroll Township, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Lawson Nursing Home Inc. He retired after 36 years as a tin worker at U.S. Steel Clairton Works. A Marine, having served during the Korean War, he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing at his camp in Bedford. He also enjoyed drawing and woodworking. Born Oct. 14, 1934, in Clairton, he was a son of the late Roy and Mary Pierce Patton. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Hoover Patton; children, Darla (Kenneth) Losteter of Glassport, Lora (the late Ronald) Hess of West Mifflin, James E. (Ronna) Patton Jr. of Jefferson Hills, and Roy (Kaycie) Patton of Forward Township; stepchildren, Laurie (Norm) Pigeon of Canada and Paul (Dana) Young of Cranberry; many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; a sister, Roxana Patterson of Buena Vista; and his dog, Kalie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Patton. No visitation or services are planned. Arrangements are entrusted to PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, Elizabeth.
