Bert T. Powell – California, Pa.

Bert T. Powell, 92, of California, Pa., died Tuesday, July 9, 2019. He was born Tuesday, April 26, 1927, in California, Pa., son of the late David Cabe Powell and Elizabeth McGinnis Powell. He was a member of the former California American Legion JFK Post 377. In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Powell, on Oct. 20, 2014; grandson, Edmond T. Weckoski on May 21, 2019; brothers, Todd McLaughlin, Guy Powell, Cabe Powell, Jerry Powell and George Powell. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ed Weckoski of Charleroi; sister, Sophia Hotz of California, Pa.; and his grandson, Joseph Weckoski of Indiana, Pa. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center, Pa., where the West Brownsville American Legion Post 840 will accord military funeral honors.
