Forward Township hears call for increased code enforcement

Forward Township police Chief Travis Stoffer is getting good reviews from supervisors for his first month serving as code enforcement and ordinance officer, but at least one resident wants him to do more.

Supervisors Thomas DeRosa, Dave Magiske and Ron Skrinjorich unanimously voted last month to give Stoffer the additional responsibilities, which include investigating complaints about “junk cars” and other cosmetic eyesores, such as overgrown weeds in yards.

However, township resident Jynx Scagline, who lives on Williamsport Road by William Penn School,  called for more action at Tuesday night’s supervisors meeting.

She complained about the condition of her neighbor’s yard, claiming old cars and appliances are hindering her ability to sell her property.
