The Salvation Army in Monessen wants to meet its neighbors.
The organization has been serving the Mon Valley area since 1914, and after more than a century of community service decided it was time to invite people to its facility to see exactly what the Salvation Army is all about.
Capt. Sue Thwaite and her team will open up their doors for an open house at 3 p.m. July 17.
Guests will be able to take a tour of the building, explore the mobile canteen truck that was recently repaired and mingle with employees, volunteers and members of the advisory board. Most importantly, they can ask questions about the dozens of services offered.
