Rose Marie ‘Ruby’ Pezzelle – Monessen

Rose Marie “Ruby” Pezzelle, 87, of Monessen, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, in Hallsworth House. She was born on May 20, 1932, in Monessen, daughter of the late Anthony and Lydia Jacobson Franks. Ruby was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1950 graduate of Monessen High School. She had worked for The Valley Independent and later for the Area Agency on Aging at the former Mon Valley Health Center. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and was an avid card player, having enjoyed playing with all her girl friends for over 40 years. Surviving are her two sons, Bruce Pezzelle of Monessen and Michael Pezzelle of Lake Worth, Fla.; four grandchildren, Ashley, Anthony, Alexis and Adam Pezzelle; two great-grandchildren, Aurora and Apollo; three sisters, June DeMarco, Betty Ann Rubachko and Marge White; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Bruce B. Pezzelle; and by a sister, Toni Selby. Per Ruby’s request, there will be no public visitation. Everyone is invited to attend the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating.
