Alma M. Kobosky McLaughlin – Belle Vernon

Alma M. Kobosky McLaughlin, 93, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019, at her home. Born April 4, 1926, in Fairhope, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Sleyzak Kobosky. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, and was retired from Corning Glass, Charleroi, where she worked as an inspector. Alma also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Karl Polacek of Belle Vernon, and Kathleen Monetti of Florida; a son, James McLaughlin of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kelly Bedner and Tom Kearns, Amy and Dave Curry, Edward Roberts, James Roberts, Kristie Rupchand, Farrah Tyrpin, Mindy Travis Turner; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sara Farkos of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. McLaughlin; son, Robert McLaughlin; three brothers, Walter Kobosky, Stanley Kobosky and Carl Kobosky; and three sisters, Kay Olesko, Ann Moyer and Helen Vollmar. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Elmer Alforque of St. Sebastian R.C. Church officiating. Entombment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
