Fallowfield Twp. garage nearly rebuilt

Eight months later, the Fallowfield Township municipal garage is nearly ready to use after being damaged by a fire in November.

The garage is almost move-in ready after months of battles with insurance claims and investigations into the cause of the fire, which was determined to have started in a Freightliner truck.

The roof and tresses of the garage have been replaced, the walls have been re-painted and re-plastered, wiring has been completely re- done and the new entrance doors are in place.

Supervisor Earl Sadler said only a few “finishing touches” remain before the space can be used again for storage and maintenance.

“We are hoping to be inside within the next month,” he said. “Right now, all of our equipment is outside so we are ready to get back into the garage as soon as possible. It’s been a long time coming.”
