7 locals named All-State

The Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association announced its 2019 All-State teams Monday and the Mon Valley was well represented.
Of the seven players selected from local teams, five were named first-team all-staters while two were named to the second team.
PIAA Class 4A runner-up Elizabeth Forward and PIAA Class 2A champion Frazier each had two players named to the lists.
Yough, Monessen and Serra Catholic each had a first-teamer.
