Area man charged in fight that started over rooster

A dispute over a rooster turned violent Sunday night.

James T. Housley, 41, of Finleyville is charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment by subjecting another person to physical contact.

Monongahela Police were called to Second Avenue in Monongahela around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic incident.

Police said they found Alicia Smith in the driver’s seat of a Ford pick-up truck with red marks around her neck, blood running from her knee and bruises on her arms.
