Monessen to save with new insurance broker

Monessen city council hired a new insurance broker Thursday in a move that will save the city at least $40,000 annually.

Rick Scott and Jason Seltzer of Engle-Hambright & Davies of Cranberry Township presented information to council during its regular meeting before it was unanimously approved.

The city’s current insurance provider is RFP and Associates, headquartered in Latrobe, but the contract ends July 1 and EHD will take the reigns.

Scott told council that in most aspects of the proposal EHD offered the city, Monessen will get more for about half the cost.
