Robert A. Pastella Sr. – Apple Valley, Calif

Robert “Bob” A. Pastella, Sr., age 88 of Apple Valley, Calif., was called home on June 12, 2019. He was born on March 13, 1931, in Monessen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmine Sr. and Susan (née Dimperio); a brother, Carmine Jr, and his first wife Patricia (née Gillis). He is survived by his wife, Gaylon (née Miller); daughters, Deborah Blair, Susan Purbaugh, Lynn Fairgrief, Donna (Chuck) Wagers, Sharon Liedtky, Michele (Paul) Rawlins; sons, Robert Pastella Jr., John (Seung-Hee) Pastella, Richard (Karen) Liedtky; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Donald, Glenn (Nancy) and Richard (Alice) Pastella. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School, served on the USS Jason, retiring after 28 years as Senior Chief in the Navy Seabees and working 34 years in telecommunications.  Services were held at Ascension Lutheran Church, Apple Valley, Calif., with full military honors and burial at Riverside National Cemetery. Donations to Wounded Warriors or your favorite charity can be made in the name of Robert Pastella Sr.
