Charleroi’s Community Days to be shorter

A long-standing tradition in the Magic City will be a little more old school this year.

In past years, Charleroi Community Days — a weekend long festival — was a regionally recognized summer event that attracted thousands of people to the borough.

Instead of a multiple-day celebration this year, the entire event will take place Saturday.

Councilwoman Jody Cheplic said there are good reasons for shortening the festival.
