Dorothy Jean Crusan Hathaway – Belle Vernon

Dorothy Jean Crusan Hathaway, 91, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019, in Dunlevy Manor. A daughter of the late Walter and Teresa Popovich Katchmark, she was born in Tower Hill on Sept. 7, 1927. An avid bingo player who loved to cook and crochet, Dorothy had been employed at Pottery Outlet and the former Wetterau Inc., both in Belle Vernon, where she worked in the coupon department. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tess and Danny Blair of Belle Vernon and Kathy and Bob Loker of Glendale, Ariz.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Phillip “Bud” Crusan, Kevin and Linda Crusan and Gerald Crusan all of Glendale, Ariz.; one step daughter, Carolyn Myers of Penn Hills; four grandchildren, Todd (Kristin) Blair, Ryan (Holly) Blair, Kari Walker and Cheyenne Crusan; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Blair, Alivia Blair and Natalie Walker; and two sisters, Pearl Snyder of Belle Vernon and Edith McQuillis of Newell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Crusan on Nov. 15, 1996, and her second husband, James Hathaway, on Aug. 14, 2002; four sisters, Mary Ann Ercegovich, Pauline Cummins, Betty Ambler and Kay Hamilton; and one brother, Robert Katchmark. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Father Michael Crookston officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
