Nancy Shelton of Mon Yough Community Services is “all smiles this week” thanks to a McKeesport man who provided last-minute funding for a summer camp program that was at risk of shutting down.
Shelton announced during McKeesport’s Good Neighbor Day celebration last week that the Angora Gardens-based Making Your Character Soar MYCS Summer Camp, set to begin in July, was in danger of being canceled because of a lack of funding.
It was saved Saturday when she got a call from Tracy Tolbert of McKeesport.
“Mr. Tolbert and his daughter called me and told me they were reading an article in the Mon Valley Independent about the possibility of the camp not happening this year and were immediately moved to make a donation,” Shelton said.
