The Cal Ripken Team8 Tour will be making a stop at McKeesport Area School District next week to recognize the district for “being a safe haven for students and a resource for both students and faculty.”
“The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and United Healthcare are continuing the 2019 Team8 Tour with a two-day stop at McKeesport Area High School and Founders Hall Middle School,” an event description from Team 8 Tour states. “The visit will be themed around supporting the school in their efforts to be a safe haven for their students and a resource for both students and faculty. Team8 Tour volunteers will work on building out the school’s fitness spaces, revamping its courtyards, and assembling and organizing new athletic equipment, among other projects.”
The Team8 Tour is a national campaign aimed at building healthy communities. Every year, Team8 Tour members hit the road to reduce need, restore health and renew hope for at-risk youth in America’s distressed cities.
