Susan Diane Stefansky Mitchell – North Belle Vernon

Susan Diane Stefansky Mitchell, 67, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019, at Mon Valley Hospital. Born June 17, 1952, in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rose Kotys Stefansky. A resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 47 years, Susan was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, retired from Kmart with 30 years of service, was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, sitting around the campfire, vacationing at the beach, crocheting and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Richard Mitchell, to whom she was married to for 47 years; daughter and son-in-law, Prudence and William Pierce of California; son, Rick Mitchell of Roscoe; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Bonnie Stefansky of Littleton, Colo.; sister, Paula L. Nevala of Belle Vernon; sister-in-law, Karen and George Magatz of Monessen; mother-in-law, Melba Mitchell of Belle Vernon; grandchildren, Evan Mitchell, Arria Mitchell, Chloe Mitchell, Zander Mitchell, Austin Pierce, Tanner Pierce and Katelyn Pierce; nephew, Eric Mitchell; nieces, Heather Mitchell and Megan Sulak. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather directly at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church for funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday with the Very Rev. Stephan Gresh officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
