By obits

Joseph William Kormuth Jr., 79, of Twilight, passed away on Saturday June 15, 2019, at his home. He was born in Charleroi on June 16, 1939, son of the late Joseph William Sr. and Emma Kolich Kormuth. After graduating from W&J, he completed a 43-year career, pioneering modern nuclear power plant startup/shutdown chemistry. He traveled to South America, Asia, and on more than 30 trips to Europe, including visiting family in Croatia and Slovakia, eventually leading him to meet his wife. He always practiced his Roman Catholic faith, especially as a lector at Mary, Mother of the Church, and was generous with his time and talents. Dad was passionate about his hobbies, including competitive field trials with his beloved English setters, playing tennis, coaching baseball, writing published articles, planting orchards, as well as gardening, Twilight borough council, photography, classical music and many others. Above all, he was a caring father, husband and provider for his family. He is survived by his wife, Zorica Jarnjevic; daughter, Dr. Karen Kormuth, Ph.D.; his sister, Mary (Gary) Echard; and many loving family around the world, as well as his son and daughter, Michael Kormuth and Jennifer Gallingan and five grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. All are asked to gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, to celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, with the Rev. Kevin Dominik officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., Charleroi.
