Fedorchak excelled athletically and academically

Being an Orthodox priest’s son in a blue collar town carried many responsibilities. 

And while acting in accordance with the values and religious principles expected was not always easy, emulating an upstanding life was always the ultimate goal for Rodney Nicholas Fedorchak, one of seven inductees who will be welcomed into the Mid Mon Valley All Sports Hall of Fame on Friday. 

From an early age, Fedorchak, who was born April 22, 1948, in Monongahela, felt he had to exemplify a strong moral compass and practice the principles by which he was raised. 

It was this attitude that was reinforced by his outstanding performance academically, and later on through his dedication and physicality on the basketball court and football field.
