Carl Edward Nicolaus III – Rostraver Township

Carl Edward Nicolaus III, 63, of Rostraver Township, died Saturday, June 15, 2019. Born in Mt. Pleasant on March 21, 1956, he was the son of the late Carl Edward Nicolaus Jr. and Ialene Grimm Nicolaus. Carl was a carpenter/builder and was the owner of Nicolaus Construction. He was Lutheran by faith and loved hunting, fishing, camping with his friends and playing his guitar. He was a member and vice president of the Naomi Athletic Club in Fayette City. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he loved his family more than anything! He is survived by his wife, Tonette Kroskie Nicolaus; son, Carl E. (Lindsey) Nicolaus IV of Rostraver; daughter, Amy (Clayton) Soffel of West Newton; grandchildren, Addison Soffel and Colton Nicolaus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Ken Sommerfeldt officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
