William L. Hayden – formerly from Monessen

William L. Hayden, 67, formerly from Monessen, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2019, in Gainsville, Ga. He was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Donora to the late Henry M. and Irene P. Hayden. William attended Monessen School District, went to the U.S. Air Force and worked at Allenport Steel Mill. He was involved in the Columbia School of Broadcasting, Counselor A.G.A.P.E., was a member of Local 798 Pipeliners Union and was co-founder and manager of New Wave Club. He also was a former member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Monessen. William is survived by his sister, Carol I. Hayden (Oliver) Mays of Monessen; longtime partner, Michele McIvor; children, Michele R. Ewing, William M. Hayden and Toccara I. Hayden; step-children, Michael J. McIvor, Amy L. McIvor and Kristy M. (John) Jackson; nephews, Dwayne M. Grogan and Michael L. Grogan; a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Viewing will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, with a service beginning at 3 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with pastor, Bishop Karl Jackson, eulogizing. Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, 724-379-5420, Karl Jackson, funeral director.
