Carol Porada Chovan – Belle Vernon

Carol Porada Chovan, 75, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills. Born May 18, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Sophia Maley Porada. A resident of Rostraver Township for the past 50 years, Mrs. Chovan was a member of Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township, belonged to the Christian Mothers along with other church committees and was active with Meals on Wheels. Carol was retired from Charleroi Federal Bank, where she worked as a customer service agent. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jackie and Tony Rossi of New Salem, Theresa Chovan of Austin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Michele Chovan of North Belle Vernon; four grandchildren, Sarah Rossi, Hannah Rossi, Alex Chovan, Jack Chovan; brother, John Porada of Ohio; and three sisters, Geri Gavlak of Ohio, Mary Ellen Huffman of Ohio, and Nancy Porada of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Chovan on July 20, 2011. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Church of St. Anne with the Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in West Newton Cemetery.  Members of the Christian Mothers from the Church of St. Anne will conduct a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. Friday at funeral home.
