For the past 56 years, the City of McKeesport has challenged residents to “be a good neighbor,” providing a celebration to reward them for their efforts.
Good Neighbor Day is a June tradition — the week before Father’s Day — in which people who live or work in McKeesport gather downtown to take part in an informational street fair “that showcases all the city has to offer,” said Mc-Keesport Mayor Michael Cherepko.
More than 60 local businesses, community groups and human service organizations have signed up to host booths along a two-block section of Fifth Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Many vendors will provide information about their businesses or organizations, while others will be selling food or products such as jewelry and clothes.
