George R. Nega – Rostraver Township

George R. Nega, 85, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, in his home. A son of the late Zigmond and Mary Frich Nega, he was born in Belle Vernon on Jan. 10, 1934. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, George was an independent owner/operator truck driver for 50 years. He then was employed by the Mon Valley Detective Bureau as a security guard, retiring on May 10, 2019. George was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and a life member and past president of the Rostraver Sportsman’s Club.  Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary A. Maione Nega; two daughters, Kim Nega Pozo of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Lori Nega Livingstone of Rostraver Township; four grandchildren, David P. (Lesley) Livingstone, Christopher G. Livingstone, Elizabeth Mazzarella and Brandon Pozo; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Honora Varchulik and Georgetta (Chuck) Wiles, both of Rostraver Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Nega. Funeral services were private. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
