Forward Township police Chief Travis Stoffer will be taking on added responsibilities.

Supervisors Thomas DeRosa, Dave Magiske and Ron Skrinjorich unanimously voted during Monday’s meeting to name Stoffer as the township code enforcement/ordinance officer.

“In his process of going through the township, Travis will investigate complaints about houses, junk cars. He is going to be the one who goes there,” DeRosa said. “Zoning officers have had no success with taking these people to the magistrate and getting them to pay for citations, so, we’re going to try it with the police.

“We’re going to try something different and to clean up some places in the township that need cleaned up.”
