Gerald Borrello – New Eagle

Gerald Borrello, 75, of New Eagle, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, in Canonsburg Hospital. A son of the late Angelo J. and Mary R. LaForte Borrello, he was born in Monongahela on Aug. 3, 1943. Gerald graduated from Monongahela Senior High School in 1961 and California State College in 1964 and 1971. He taught school in the state of California from 1964-1965 before returning to teach in Pennsylvania in 1965. He taught here for 30 years, the last 29 years in the Charleroi Area School District, before retiring from teaching in 1995. Gerald also owned and operated the J&R Gun Shop in New Eagle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, casinos and music. Survivors include a daughter, Tamara Borrello; a granddaughter, Raine Reeley; a niece, Angela Borrello; a great-niece, Reyna Borrello; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Borrello; a very close friend, Mary Louise Antonio; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Borrello Sr.; and a nephew, Thomas Borrello Jr. There was no public visitation.
