A group of McKeesporters “jammed out” Friday by the Youghiogheny River.

They were there to the hear musical stylings of recent Serra Catholic High School graduate Johnny Cardo and Chicago-based musician, Mark Rose during the second installment of the Mc-Keesport Riverfront Concert Series.

“We had another great night in Gergely Park on Friday,” concert organizer Jennifer Vertullo said. “This week’s event featured concessions by Eat My Pork and the McKees Point Development Group. Special thanks to our sponsors, UPMC McKeesport, the Mon Yough Chamber Foundation and PurePenn LLC.”

The concerts are being held for a few reasons, explained Vertullo, who said the city and the development group are trying to celebrate summer while promoting recreation at the McKees Point Marina and Gergely Riverfront Park.
