Plans are being finalized for Port Vue’s 25th annual Fun to be a Kid Day 1 to 4 p.m. July 28 at Romine Park.
The event will feature traditional summer picnic food, games, prizes and giveaways for borough children.
Council president Mark Tortorice said the event began 25 years ago with about 50 or 60 children and a budget of $1,300.
The event now garners donations of about $10,000 to fund the 250 to 300 children and their families. He credits borough manager Malisa Migliori for the event’s success. “It is a collaboration of many people,” she said.
