“McKeesport has a compelling story to share with its visitors and the world,” according to Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh Executive Director Matthew Craig.
YPA released its “visioning” report this week for the possibilities of future use and development for the former Penn-McKee Hotel, which has sat vacant for around 25 years.
The building is historically significant for many reasons, including being the place where then-U.S. Sens. John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon debated the “Taft-Hartley” Labor Management Relations Act of 1947.
YPA promotes younger voices in historic preservation by using community engagement and education to advocate for the preservation of historic sites and structures in the Greater Pittsburgh region.
